Head's welcome

Kingsworth Bilingual Primary School embraces new and exciting horizons, employing multi-disciplinary approaches in our everyday teaching.  We believe our model of primary schooling is a beacon of hope for the future.  The “whatever it takes” approach, with its inherent, muddling-through, putting children-through-hoops ‘style’, is not only wrong, but terribly outmoded. An alternative approach, simultaneously innovative, creative and dynamic, whilst additionally nurturing the growth of bilingualism, is more what is required

The primary section reflects modern philosophy and approaches to education.  It will be holistic and child-centred, rather than being led by a need to satisfy statistics, or league tables, or teacher-knows-best. We need an educative system which promotes character, resilience and communication skills; a system which better prepares children to respond creatively to the challenges of our society; a system which has no emotional, moral, or intellectual negatives for the students.  We believe in dialogue and interchange.  Students need to feel part of something that is intimately interconnected and explicable only by referring to the whole.

Kingsworth schools will never become exam factories, but are intended to challenge the child and to get them to think creatively, to challenge received ‘wisdom’, and to prepare them for the challenges of the 21st century.

We firmly believe that a 50/50 bilingual approach to learning is a boost not only to the learning process but coupled with our holistic approach to education - giving equal importance to dance, theatre, music, sport, science, ICT, humanities, language - children will grow into fully-rounded being.  Reaching potential – physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually – is what your child will receive in their education at Kingsworth.

Please contact me for a visit and a chat about our philosophy and approach to learning.  I look forward to hearing from you.
